Cosm Internship 2022
I had the pleasure of working as an Intern for Cosm in Fall of 2022. I was tasked with working with the motion graphics team to create and animate 3D elements. These elements were to be added to a growing broadcast package visual library that the company would be able to pick from and implement depending on the occasion. They would also be formatted and optimized for curved attraction screens, projection domes, and dome theaters.
The team started out with mainly Cinema 4D and After Effects to complete projects, but there was a recent push by the company to attempt to achieve real-time graphics in the future, so we began to incorporate unreal engine into the pipeline. This included making animations in Cinema 4D and then importing into Unreal. Within 3 months I was able to concept and begin animating for 3 different "mini projects." I then presented these projects- including process work- to the rest of the company. My work was very well received and I am grateful for the experience.
Footage from an in-person demo with the motion team at the Cosm Experience Center in Salt Lake City. The video shown here is a graphic I designed and animated with cinema 4D. There are actually 3 main branches within the overarching umbrella that is Cosm’s visual identity. There’s “cube”, “ribbon” and “sphere.” I was able to mainly work on adding to the “cube” branch of assets during the internship. This became a possible alternate introduction graphic with the company's logo.
